Two similar-looking boards can be different workpieces
Identify the species or board specification. For plywood or composite boards, include construction and adhesive information. Record surface treatments and any coating.

Choose the sample by the application
A gift item, engraved panel and cut model part do not have the same acceptance criteria. Include the actual artwork and a representative piece from the intended material.
- Workpiece dimensions and thickness
- Grain direction and visible face
- Finish and coating documentation
- Appearance or dimensional criteria
Agree on what a good result means
Review visible contrast, edge appearance, residue and positioning against the intended use. Ask the evaluator to identify the sample material and equipment configuration.
Wood is included in manufacturer CO2 application guidance; that does not qualify every board or coating. Confirm the exact material before a trial.
Prepare for an equipment discussion
Use a consistent brief to compare CO2 configurations. Describe handling and fixture needs alongside the working area.
