Identify the metal and the surface treatment
Bring the alloy or material specification and state whether the part is bare, anodized, painted, plated or otherwise coated. These inputs affect the method to evaluate.

Describe the identification result
Include the location, artwork size, intended contrast and any durability or inspection requirement. A readable sample photograph alone may not establish the criteria your project needs.
- Alloy and surface finish
- Accessible marking face and part geometry
- Actual text, code or artwork size
- Inspection and service requirements
Marking is not sheet cutting
The FM-30 in this catalogue illustrates a fiber-marking concept. It must not be interpreted as a machine qualified to cut metal stock.
Manufacturer guidance distinguishes fiber engraving applications, coated-metal applications and bare-metal marking with a marking compound under CO2. Discuss the actual process rather than assuming one machine covers all metal tasks. Epilog compatibility reference.
Send a complete marking brief
Pair the exact material with an annotated drawing and a representative sample. Then review the FM-30 teaching concept as a configuration example.
